Understand the labels on your lashing

The blue label

The blue label on your lashing contains important information that is good to know and understand. The label is a necessary part of the lashing, as the lashing cannot be approved if the label is missing or have become unreadable, and you should not use the product if the label is lost between two service inspections.

In this article we describe what the information means, and how you can check when your product was last inspected and thus approved.

The part of the label, which is above the dotted line in the picture, is sewn in between the webbings of the lashing and thus hidden from you. If the label is pulled off, this part will always remain on the lashing. However, this does not mean that your lashing can still be used, but that the product can still be tracked.

Learn what the information on the blue label means:

1: Model designation.
2: S_HF means Standard Hand Force.
3: S_TF means Standard Tension Force, which means standard tightening force or slack force, based on the level at which the tensioning tool has been tested when it was designed for frictional lashing.
4: Elongation of the textile webbing.
5: Textile webbing material.
6: L_GF: Length in mm of tamp on handle.
    L_GL: Length in mm of loose webbing.
7: LC betyder Laching Capacity.
8: Production year.
9: Batch no. is the manufacturer's tracking code.
10: Serial number is the unique tracking number.
11: Warning: Not for lifting nor pulling.
12: Number and part of the European standard EN 12195-2.
13: Manufacturer's or supplier's name or logo and website address.
14: Inspection calendar with year and month indication. Years always start with the year after the production year.
15: This symbol indicates that the product is part of our Aspire range™. The polyester fiber is made from recycled PET bottles r-PET, which significantly reduces the CO₂ footprint compared to traditional polyester.

Two white labels

Under the blue label you find two white labels. One is provided with recommended/advised uses of your lashing, as well as the temperature range your lashing can be used in. QR code takes you directly to our online instructions for use for all our POWERTEX products.

On the back of this label, it is shown how to guide the webbing correctly into the ratchet, so that you can tighten the lashing with it, as well as how to subsequently loosen the webbing again.

We always recommend using edge/corner protection when using lashings.

Aspire range™ label
The second white label says that the product is partially made from recycled materials, to reduce the CO₂ footprint as much as possible. You can read more about our Aspire range™ here.
