When should a webbing sling be discarded?

Webbing slings, or lifting slings as they are also called, are used in almost any industrial business, and often they do not get much attention in daily life.

But they really should.

Many external effects can cause that a webbing sling can no longer be used safely. This is of course discovered at the statutory annual inspection, but you should also inspect the webbing sling/lifting sling visually before each use, as you (in many cases) can discover damages yourself that means, that the sling no longer can be used.

One of the most common mistakes people do when working with webbing slings is tying them together to lengthen them. This is of course not allowed as it changes the sling's fibres and thus the lifting capacity.

We have collected the most frequent damages in this poster, which you can download and print out!
